Adviser for property companies, particularly family groups developing and investing in property
As BKL’s Head of Property, Myfanwy is adept at helping to identify and solve the complex problems facing commercial and residential property groups. She saves money and time by finding ways to improve business systems and structures, enabling clients to continue developing successfully in more ways than one.
Taking a perceptive, thorough approach, Myfanwy builds strong relationships in the property industry and a range of other sectors. She blends a grasp of the details with an understanding of the bigger picture: for each client, she is dedicated to making a difference.
Myfanwy’s experience covers a variety of tax, accounting, audit advisory and commercial issues. For family groups with large property portfolios, overseas companies who own UK property and other property businesses, this includes:
- Providing financial advice on purchases, sales or leases
- Structuring deals so they are tax efficient, guiding clients through the many different taxes which affect property transactions (e.g. capital allowances, VAT, stamp duty and corporation tax)
- Planning the method for taking money out of deals so they are worthwhile
Homegrown partner, award-winning harmoniser
Myfanwy began her accountancy training at BKL after graduating. In 2010 she became the first person at BKL to progress from trainee to partner, sharing her experiences as a contributor to the book How to Make Partner and Still Have a Life.
Myfanwy won Women in Finance’s Accountancy Leader of the Year award in 2017.
Outside work, Myfanwy is a singer with award-winning a cappella chorus Amersham A Cappella – proving that you never can take Wales out of the girl.
