Doing The Right Thing

The right kind of business – the kind that BKL wants to be, that we’re building together – is a sustainable, inclusive, growing business.
How we take action comes from how we understand sustainability. In making positive contributions to the lives of our people, our clients and our community, we’re thinking about the future and how we can sustain these contributions. Doing the right thing not just in the moment, but in the long term.

  • Setting up The BKL Foundation, which allocates a percentage of BKL’s profits to good causes locally

  • Completing a submission for the Inclusive Employers Standard

  • Becoming a Certified B Corporation: the first UK accountancy firm of our size to achieve this

  • Reducing our carbon footprint by offsetting our direct and indirect CO2 emissions (Scope 1, Scope 2, calculated Scope 3)

  • Joining over 2,000 other businesses in the coalition for The Better Business Act: a campaign to change the UK law so every company in the UK acts in the interests of wider society and the environment

  • Our partnership with LTSB, a social mobility charity that supports apprentices in professional services, including many people at BKL
