With over 40 years’ experience as a Chartered Accountant, Ian is adept at building trusted relationships with clients and identifying the guidance they need as their financial situations change.

Ian’s expertise covers businesses and private clients alike, with a depth of tax knowledge. This includes:
  • Business tax planning and succession planning for owner-managed businesses
  • Inheritance tax planning and broader guidance for high net worth individuals
  • HMRC tax investigations and disclosure facilities
  • Forensic accounting work on divorce
  • Tax recoveries and planning for insolvency practitioners
  • Tonnage tax

Ian also has particular expertise in offshore trusts, encompassing:
  • Experience in contentious trust issues
  • Investigation into maladministration of trusts
  • Transfer of trusts to new administrators
  • Project management of “new teams” to assist in trust reviews and instigating new planning

In giving clients high-level technical advice, Ian also considers the wider setting of commercial strategy and personal finance goals.

Ian qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1980 and became a principal of FSPG in 1992 when Fenton Green Stern (which had a 50-year heritage) merged with Presky Glasner. He became a BKL partner when our two firms merged in 2022. Many clients have stayed with Ian throughout this time.
