Rental Fraud Has Cost 1m People

‘According to research from 192.com almost one million people have ended up a victim of rental scams, losing an average of £2,394 each to rogue landlords.

The website has launched Background Reports on UK residents. For £30 these reveal whether the landlord owns the property, if they have registered on the edited electoral roll at any time since 2002 at the address, and give company director information which offers protection against fraud.’
