‘My work experience at BKL has been extremely helpful in choosing my career and also it has made me aware of the different routes available to achieve the chartered accountant status. BKL is a teamwork orientated accountancy practice, which contributes to the excellent training they provide. My time at BKL has made me more aware of what accountancy involves, in turn giving more conviction when choosing accountancy as a career after graduating.
BKL allowed me to split up my work experience between the Tax Compliance Department and the Accounts Department. Additionally, I was able to accompany two Accountants on an audit which was one of the most beneficial experiences of my week at BKL. The audit took place in a stocks and shares company, during the audit I carried out a cashbook review and an analytical review. Furthermore, in the office I was given the chance to assist an Accountant on an investigation into errors made in clients’ VAT Returns.
The most beneficial time of my work experience was attending an audit. However one of the most memorable parts of my work experience was the helpful and friendly office environment that BKL has established.’
