Senior - Audit, Accounts and Corporate Finance

Due to the growth of our Cambridge office, we are currently recruiting for a Senior to join our team of experts. Your opportunity

This role will contribute to the provision of audit, year-end accounting, taxation compliance and corporate finance services to a wide range of clients, supporting partners and working alongside managers in various departments. You will be motivating and providing on the job training for junior team members.

The client base you will be working on is challenging and interesting. We work with everyone from freelancers and ultra high net worth individuals, from entrepreneurs to high growth businesses with a turnover of up to £100 million, and families with wealth well beyond that. Sectors we are strongly represented in are property, farms and family estates, technology and digital businesses and hospitality.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for candidates who are ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent) and have at least three years of experience in audit & accounts. Experience in corporate finance is not essential, you will be given on the job training. You are a clear communicator with strong commercial skills, an inquisitive mind and are able to develop good working relationships with clients. You are IT literate, ideally with experience of paperless audit and tax software systems, such as Caseware and Alphatax.

Our modern Cambridge office in Royston has an inspiring work environment in a rural location. As the office is not accessible by public transport, you must hold a full driving licence and have the use of a car. During the course of this year, our office will be relocating to Trumpington Enterprise Quarter.

Tax Senior and Tax Semi Senior

Your opportunity

You will be completing of all aspects of year-end tax returns, accounts and P11Ds. To accomplish this, you will be communicating with clients and HMRC and advising clients of measures they can take to reduce their tax liability. By joining our team you’ll have work that’s “high-end” (both challenging and fulfilling); clients you will directly engage with, to the point where you are personally making their lives better. You will be reviewing and supervising the work of trainees and assistants.

What we’re looking for

You will be ATT qualified or studying towards and are willing to continue with gaining your CTA qualification. Your opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a client-focused, diligent and committed Team Assistant to join our Business Support team in our Cambridge office and to provide a full range of support to our partners and the wider team in Accounts and Assurance.

Your role will include:

  • taking ownership of client take-on administration
  • screening and responding to incoming telephone calls and emails and taking action as appropriate
  • supporting the monthly billing process
  • diary management
  • drafting routine correspondence for approval and signature
  • preparing documents, reports and presentations and
  • tracking actions and deadlines for the partners, team and yourself.

What we’re looking for

Most importantly we are looking for someone who can very quickly build rapport with colleagues and clients who is collaborative and flexible with a passion for client service. You will have experience as a Team Assistant/Administrator or equivalent, preferably in professional services. Confidence, attention to detail and trustworthiness are key attributes as well as being a clear communicator, inquisitive and adaptable.

Marketing & Business Development Manager (FTC 12 months - maternity cover)

About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven and creative individual, with the confidence and ability to take control of campaigns and liaise with all levels across the business, looking to use their skills to thrive and achieve in a supportive diverse team. Having a broad general marketing background will be highly beneficial as this role encompasses a variety of exciting functions including branding, digital, content and events. You will need to have previous experience in managing and mentoring more junior members of staff.

You will play a key part in the implementation of the marketing strategy firmwide and for our key sectors (property, financial services, technology & digital and farms & estates) to build profile and new business opportunities. You will take the lead on meetings and be able to take plans forward. As well as this, you will be assisting with the day to day management of the team.

About you

We want our people to be the best they can be. We can only achieve this if you are passionate about what you do. So, you need to genuinely care and take an interest in your work and the people and communities around you.

You will have a good technical understanding of websites, CRM, marketing & business development models, event management, print process and SEO. Project management experience is desirable. You’ll develop your wider interpersonal and professional skills, again with internal and external providers. After you’ve qualified, we’ll continue to support your growth through additional professional qualifications, new development programmes, a range of work opportunities and careers guidance.

You will be expected to develop and deliver technical excellence, which means you’ll need the qualities that this will demand: qualities that set you apart from your peers.
