Tax Senior and Tax Semi Senior

We have exciting opportunities for Tax professionals to join our busy Personal Tax Compliance team in the London office. As a Semi Senior or Senior you will be working with a variety of businesses across a range of sectors and will receive managerial support to increase your responsibilities.

Your opportunity

You will be completing of all aspects of year-end tax returns, accounts and P11Ds. To accomplish this, you will be communicating with clients and HMRC and advising clients of measures they can take to reduce their tax liability. By joining our team you’ll have work that’s “high-end” (both challenging and fulfilling); clients you will directly engage with, to the point where you are personally making their lives better. You will be reviewing and supervising the work of trainees and assistants.

What we’re looking for

We actively look to work with people who think differently, explore opportunities, have the right technical capabilities and most importantly have the integrity needed to build trusted relationships. You will be ATT qualified or studying towards and are willing to continue with gaining your CTA qualification. You have strong technical experience and are able to provide guidance to more junior tax team members.

Payroll Senior

This is an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Senior to join our busy Payroll team in the Outsourcing department to provide a full range of payroll services to our clients. You will be working with a variety of businesses across a range of sectors and will receive managerial support to increase your responsibilities.

Your opportunity

You will have your own client portfolio and will be providing a full range of payroll duties, including annual, quarterly, monthly and weekly payrolls. This includes the processing of starters and leavers, preparing payroll to be paid by BACS, issuing payslips and payroll summaries and opening and closing PAYE schemes. You will process Real Time Information (RTI) submissions to HMRC as required and process end of year RTI submissions and the issuing of P60s. You will have demonstrable experience with auto enrolment.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for someone who is tech savvy, bright and able to balance independent and collaborative work. You will have experience as a Payroll Senior or equivalent, preferably in an accountancy firm. Experience with Star Payroll Professional is highly desirable.

You are able to develop good working relationships with colleagues and clients – underpinned by confidence and tactfulness. You are a clear communicator with an inquisitive mind and have an adaptable approach.

We’re excited to announce that we’re now accepting applications for our trainee intake in August 2019, both in our Cambridge and London offices.

In our London office, we have opportunities for AAT training followed by either ACA or ACCA depending on your specialisation, the training of ATT followed by CTA and the training of ACA with the possibility to study the CTA joint programme.

In our Cambridge office, we have opportunities for ACA training with the possibility to study the CTA joint programme.

(We’ve used quite a few abbreviations there. AAT is the Association of Accounting Technicians; ACA is Associate Chartered Accountant; CTA is Chartered Tax Adviser; ACCA is the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants; ATT is the Association of Taxation Technicians.)

All training will be provided on an apprenticeship scheme.

You’ll develop your wider interpersonal and professional skills, again with internal and external providers. After you’ve qualified, we’ll continue to support your growth through additional professional qualifications, new development programmes, a range of work opportunities and careers guidance.

You will be expected to develop and deliver technical excellence, which means you’ll need the qualities that this will demand: qualities that set you apart from your peers. You need to be able to study and to advance your thinking. We’re open to how you demonstrate this. Traditionally it’s done through academic results, but that doesn’t have to be the case.
