Rethinking accountancy: bright tax trainee required
In a profession where numbers matter more than people, we put our people first. By doing so, we help our business to succeed, our clients to flourish and our communities to thrive. We work together to make a difference. Here’s your opportunity to do the same.
In our Cambridge office, we have opportunities for ATT training followed by CTA.
(We’ve used quite a few abbreviations there. ATT is the Association of Taxation Technicians; CTA is Chartered Tax Adviser.)
All training will be provided on an apprenticeship scheme.
Whether you join us from school or from university, we will train you and support you. Whatever subjects you’ve studied, being bright, professional, and a clear communicator is what matters to us.
We like willingness to be challenged, to be inspired and to collaborate. We also value energy and determination.
We’ll provide structured development on tax, accounts, audit and outsourcing, IT training delivered by our own experts and the best external practitioners. We work closely with Kaplan, whose apprenticeship training encompasses leading online learning technologies, award-winning study materials and highly experienced tutors.
You’ll develop your wider interpersonal and professional skills, again with internal and external providers. After you’ve qualified, we’ll continue to support your growth through additional professional qualifications, new development programmes, a range of work opportunities and careers guidance.
What we look for
You will be expected to develop and deliver technical excellence, which means you’ll need the qualities that this will demand: qualities that set you apart from your peers. You need to be able to study and to advance your thinking. We’re open to how you demonstrate this. Traditionally it’s done through academic results, but that doesn’t have to be the case. Feel free to surprise us!
Our modern Cambridge office in Royston has an inspiring work environment in a rural location. As the office is not accessible by public transport, you must hold a full driving licence and have the use of a car. Parking is available directly outside the office.

Our trainees will enjoy:
- Paid study support and development opportunities
- Private medical cover
- Season ticket loans
- Holiday entitlement that increases the longer you work with us
- A full, varied social calendar and wellbeing programme
